The preferred placement for the Roth ID Tag™ is on the back or side of the carseat, on a hard non-porous surface.
The Roth ID Tag™ is a durable, waterproof, heat and UV resistant tag that adheres to almost any hard surface. The two long strips are used to affix the tag to the carseat.
Why shouldn’t the Roth ID Tag be applied to the front of the carseat? In order to make sure the Roth ID Tag doesn’t interfere with the safety of the carseat, the tag should never be placed on the front of the carseat. This also reduces the risk that the child passenger might remove the tag themselves.
How will First Responders see the tag if it is on the back of the seat? We have consulted with child passenger safety technicians and learned first responders always attempt to recover child passengers in their carseats. If that is not possible, they still retrieve the seat after removing the child. For that reason, First Responders will be able to find the Roth ID Tag. To be sure, we have included an additional signal tag with every Roth ID Tag Kit, that can be placed in a more visible place on the carseat.
Back of Carseat Placement Example:
Place the Roth ID Tag on the back of the carseat, long the smoothest part of plactic possible. The Roth ID Tag can be formed around curves and ridges if needed. Always try to avoid covering any product safety and information tags on the seat. Keep in mind accessability of first responders.
Place the included smaller Signal Tag on the side of the carseat in a space clearly visible to first responders. This tells first responders to check the back of the carseat for the Roth ID Tag.
Side of Carseat Placement Example:
Place the Roth ID Tag on the side of the carseat, long the smoothest part of plactic possible. The Roth ID Tag can be formed around curves and ridges if needed. Always try to avoid covering any product safety and information tags on the seat. Keep in mind accessability of first responders.
If the Roth ID Tag is low on the seat, place the included smaller Signal Tag high on the side of the carseat in a space clearly visible to first responders. This tells first responders to check the rest of the carseat for the Roth ID Tag.
